TITHES AND OFFERINGS

WHY GIVE?

The Lighthouse CurchMuch has been discussed about the issue of Tithing but we think

R.T Kendall says it best: ‘Tithing is the solution (that nobody

talks about) for the Discouraged and Paralysed Church!’

We believe that giving to God is the intended response to the call of Godly Stewardship of our Finances: after all everything we have belongs to God anyway. We want to be able to REACH MORE | DISCIPLE MORE | SERVE MORE. You can’t outgive God – God even asks us to test Him on this:-

Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. Test me in this,” says the Lord Almighty, “and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that there will not be room enough to store it.

MALACHI 3: 10 [NIV]

We are an Elim Pentecostal Church, whose only source of income is that provided through the Tithes, Gifts and Offerings – we are not centrally supported by any Central Funds, Charity or Government Funding.

We would ask you to take a look at what the Apostle Paul has to say to support Tithing in the New Testament – please read 2 Corinthians 8:1-15 to see the encouragement he gives us and the challenge he sets before us ALL.
